About

I’m 34 years old and live in Las Vegas with my husband, Noel and my beagle, Rufus.  These days I also usually a foster dog or two.

I studied business at University, went into a sensible, well-paid job and slogged away at it for ten long years.  Then I had the chance to get out with some financial security and I took it.  I don’t work full time right now, so I finally have the time to read all that stuff I’ve been meaning to read for ages.

I am addicted to book groups, and attend one per week on average.  The best ones are the ones where we get to eat and drink while we talk.  I’ll read most things, fiction and non-fiction.  I like films too.  I have watched TV since about 2004, I do watch whole series at a time on DVD though.

I am from Cheadle, Staffordshire, England.  I lived in Birmingham, England for ten years, Dusseldorf, Germany for two years, New York City, USA for a year, and have been living in Las Vegas since January 2012.  I like Las Vegas a lot.

I run a couple of small internet-based businesses and volunteer for the local beagle rescue.  I like to be outdoors, and I enjoy keeping fit.  I like a drink, and I eat very well.  I love to travel, and after visiting lots of interesting countries I am now very much enjoying getting to know the USA and the people who live here.  I miss England, though, mostly it’s food and it’s people.

What steps did you take to post pictures of the books placed with the book reviews. I had an old Blogger blog that I could do it on, but I can’t get figure out how to work it on WordPress.

    Hi Claire,
Loved your book review on “Grayson”. I wish that I could take credit for the map of the main characters’ journey but I can’t. I found it online through a Goggle search and did some editing on it to make it easier to understand.

  3. Just curious, what kind of English food do you miss?

ooooh, chocolate, cheese, tea (of course), Balti, cider, Staffordshire oatcakes, pickled onions, Quorn, Heinz baked beans, black pudding, scones, crumpets, fish, chips and mushy peas, cordial, savory pies, Branston Pickle… oh, I could go on but it would make me too homesick.
